PUBLIC RELATIONS AND CORPORATE AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Public Relations and Corporate Affairs department plays a very significant role in shaping the image of Nile Petroleum Corporation. It establishes, maintains and polishes relations with public, media, partners and varies non-governmental and governmental institutions. In addition to laying out strategic communications, Public Relations and Corporate Affairs builds Nile Petroleum Corporation brands such as logos, diaries, calendars, etc.

At NILEPET, the Managing Director MD, Dr. Chol Deng Thon Abel and other senior Public Relations and Corporate Affairs personnel handle some sensitive roles in establishing strategic communication.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Within the parameters of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Public Relations and Corporate Affairs division, on behalf of NILEPET, engage South Sudan communities to create, promote and maintain friendly relations for the benefits of both NILEPET and communities. At large, this can involve partnerships like football tournament, volunteer activities such as blood donations, distribution of school supplies to school children, philanthropic contributions and public participation.

MEDIA RELATIONS

Public Relations establishes and maintains media contacts to promote NILEPET's reputation and to market NILEPET brands and commodities. Public Relations further provides and communicates useful information to diverse public and business community on important issues. Public Relations also keeps an eye on cyberspace to monitor and mitigate damaging information against NILEPET or the Republic of South Sudan.

Public Relations also represents NILEPET in communication to news media. It manages NILEPET's website, distributes written, audio and video news releases to SSBC television.

STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS

Stakeholders are any persons or groups who have an interest in or could be affected by NILEPET objectives or actions, such as the company's employees, lenders and government agencies. Representing the corporation to stakeholder groups is another function of public relations. For example, it’s important to give employees and prospective employees a positive image of the business to enhance the relevance, successfulness and importance.

RELATIONS WITH OUR PARTNERS IN OIL SECTORS

Nile Petroleum Corporation maintains strategic partnerships with a number of companies. The following are the key partners:

  • SUDD PETROLEUM OPERATING COMPANY (SPOC)
  • GREATER PIONER OPERATING COMPANY (GPOC)
  • DAR PETROLEUM OPERATING COMPANY (DPOC)

RECEPTION and SEEING OFF VISITORS UPON ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES

Public relations department receives, welcomes and accommodates all NILEPET's guests. It also coordinates and facilitates all the guest meetings and movements. In addition, Public Relations books air ticket for NILEPET travelers.

MANAGEMENT and SUPERVISORY

Public Relations department manages and supervises official events and conferences for NILEPET and its partners.

Public Relations and Managing Director’s (MD) Office

In coordination with MD’s office, Public Relations helps arrange MD’s official meetings, interviews and media appearances. Public Relations also provides cameras, video graphing, video editing and coordinates with South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), the national television to air NILEPET's programs.

Production of Identity Cards (IDs)

Public Relations department produces ID cards for NILEPET staff members and visitors for easy access and identification within NILEPET premises.
